Setan Ketek-ketek KRL Commuter Line

Pas udah nyampe stasiun Poti, ternyata keretanya bentar lagi datang. Cuman, itu keretanya hanya sampe stasiun Depok. Kereta ke bogornya adanya jam 10 malem. Disini kadang saya merasa sedih.

Suasana semakin sunyi senyap.

“Ketek..ketek..ketek..ketek..”

Alhasil terciptalah bunyi ketek-ketek.

Wolves, Boys, & Other Things that might Kill Me Review

Title                             : Wolves, Boys, & Other Things that might Kill Me
Writer                          : Kristen Chandler

Publisher and Year      : Scholastic, 2010
Genre                          : Fiction

Wolves is a beautiful creature
Katherine Jean, a.k.a K.J. was a 16 years old who lived with her dad, Samuel who was a fish guide. On her first senior high school day, she met a new comer, Virgil from Minnesota whose mom was a wolf scientist. The journalism teacher gave K.J. and Virgil a task to report news about wolves in Yellowstone.

After the report, appeared 2 groups of people, pro-wolves and anti-wolves. The contrary one was Martins family, who were rancher and the owner of cattle. The climax of the dispute was in Christmas parade, that someone fired a shotgun to Virgil wolf-shaped ice, and emerged a petition about wolf’s decimation. Finally, the person who set the shotgun was known. He was William Martin, and the petition was cancelled.

The best character in this novel is, Samuel, K.J.’s dad. He is a protective dad, since his wife was dead when K.J. was six. He doesn’t want his beloved daughter is caught in the trouble. But he also gives a chance to his daughter to prove what she can. I think all good fathers should be like him, give his children a freedom but also protect them.

The worst event in this novel is when Will fire a gunshot to the Virgil’s ice in Christmas parade and makes a crowd is panic.  K.J.’s dad is punched by panic-crowd, and Virgil’s life is almost end at that time. I think it is not what to do if you hate someone or something, because it is very dangerous and full of risk.

The best expression in this novel is, “A pattern is only a pattern if you follow it. Change the pattern.” (Kristen Chandler, p.351).  Well, I interpret the word pattern as fate or destiny. Sometimes you cannot blame the destiny, if you don’t try to change it. It is an inspiring quote, and we can use it in our real life.

A Montana Family Review

Title                             : A Montana Family
Writer                          : Roxanne Rustand
Page                            : 288
Publisher and Year      : Harlequin Superomance, 2001
Genre                          : Fiction

We can’t live without family
Jolie Maxwell left Montana at 17 years old to California for college. After 16 years later, she came home because her family was in trouble. As a doctor, she decided to make a clinic in the Paradise Corners town, because they haven’t had a local doctor in years. However, some of the townsfolk were not happy with the presence of other Maxwell. Robert Maxwell, Jolie’s dad was hated by the people because his arrogant and stubborn. And, Bobby, his youngest brother who made Megan Wheeler pregnant, did not responsible whit what he had done.

Hostility from townsfolk and real threat of danger could be passed by Jolie because she had a new neighbor, Matt Dawson and his 2 children, Charlie and Lily. And finally, they like each other and get married.

The worst character in this novel is Abe Wheeler, Megan’s father. He is the real antagonist character. Because his daughter was pregnant by Bobby, and his ranch was owned by Robert Maxwell, he very hated Maxwell family. And that’s why he spreads the bad rumor about Jolie in the town, and threats her with the destructions. In the end of story, he even tried to make pregnant Jolie to revenge what Maxwell had done to Megan. I just hate this bad character.

The worst event in this novel is, when someone who in the end of story he was Abe Wheeler, breaks the clinic’s window whit a rock which bound to a doll with a red paint like a blood, and texted “DEAD”. It is very threatening action to make someone leave the town. And I think this is not good for the kids to read.

The best expression of this novel is, “Somethings were worth remembering, some were bets forgotten” (Roxanne Rustand, p.30). This quote is really inspiring, and it can we use in our life. For example, we must forget every good action that we did to others, and we must remember the kind of people to us.

The Bachelor Review

Title                             : The Bachelor
Writer                          : Carly Philips
Page                            : 301
Publisher and Year      : Warner Books, Inc. New York, 2002
Genre                          : Contemporary Romance

Will this bad boy make it to the altar?
Raina Chandler, a single mother who lived in Yorkshire Falls suddenly fell weak heart. As her three sons gathered at her side, she asked something unexpected, “Get married! And Give me grandchildren!” So, the boys decided who would sacrifice his freedom by coin toss. And, Roman, the youngest brother who arrived from London lost the game from Rick, the middle one who was a cop officer. Meanwhile Chase, the older brother played as the judge, because he had been their father’s successor as the chairman of Gazette.
Since he lost the coin toss, Roman began to search his potential wife. Until one day, he met Charlotte Bronson, his crush in the high school who had rejected him to be her boyfriend. Roman fell in love for the second time with Charlotte, meanwhile Charlotte still couldn’t accept Roman because she afraid Roman would leave the town as her father did. Then, Roman felt that it was not a punishment from losing the toss, he thought that it was his path to find his love. So, he stopped his job as a journalist and tried a settling job to assure Charlotte that he really loved her. Finally, the got married because of love, not the duty.
The best character of this novel is Roman Chandler. He is a good man who love his mother very much, and will do everything for his mom’s best. At first, he always gives priority to his freedom to travel around the world, but in the end, he can leave his dream just to ensure he can live with his true love, Charlotte Bronson. Roman has a real gentlemen character.
The best part of this novel is the coin toss part. Because it is very surprising the reader, and unpredictable way to decide an important decision. And also it is very interesting and makes the readers wondering whether it will be ended happily or the reverse one. The coin toss part is very suitable to be put in the beginning, because it arises the readers encourage to read the rest story.
The best expression that represents this novel is, “If you’ve found true love, don’t let anything stand in your way.” (Carly Phillips, p. 248). And it is proved by the effort of Roman Chandler. And I think everybody should do it too, or they will regret in the future.
